The Sancak family started their business in 1950 under the auspices of their father, Abdulkerim Sancak. The family became respected in their community, thanks to their business ethics and quality approach to their operations in various Anatolian cities.

With aspirations to reach wider markets, the family moved to Istanbul in 1987. They entered the pharmaceutical distribution industry with Es and Koz Pharmaceutical Warehouses before establishing Hedef Pharmaceutical Warehouse in 1993.

Hedef Pharmaceutical Warehouse went into strategic partnership with Walgreens Boots Alliance in 2001 and was renamed Hedef Alliance. Shortly thereafter, the company became a domestic leader in pharmaceutical distribution and a powerhouse in the international markets, with Abdulrezzak Sancak and the Sancak brothers actively managing the company.
